Winter War and COVID-19 Update

Winter War 2021 is Cancelled

As you know, our country currently finds itself in the midst of a pandemic caused by COVID-19. We here at Winter War care deeply about the health and well-being of our attendees, and also wish to follow all guidelines and mandates regarding social distancing and public health and safety. So, to that end, we wish to make it clear where we are in regards to planning for Winter War in 2021.

In order to garuantee the safety and health of all of our attendees, and to stay in compliance with social-distancing guidelines and regulations, Winter War 2021 is officially cancelled. We appreciate the support of all of our attendees, and wish you all a safe and healthy new year!

Hotel Update

The hotel now has a website for this year, and you can get there by visiting the official Holiday Inn Website, but we highly recommend making your bookings by phone, to ensure that you're included in our convention rate! These fine folks have been great hosts to us year after year, and we look forward to the same stellar treatment, convention space, and fresh food that we have had in past years.

For nearly four decades, Winter War has been providing a place for tabletop gaming enthusiasts to come together to express their passion in a no-frills and no distractions atmosphere. Independently managed for over thirty five years, we have endeavored to preserve and promote the very essence of the gaming community, the games. Located in Champaign-Urbana, IL, Winter War provides a relaxed gaming atmosphere with an almost limitless variety of gaming to be had and friends to be made. We are also dedicated to the promotion of gaming in our younger generation, offering a wide variety of kid-friendly gaming and family oriented events.

About Our Games

No matter what your interests in table-top gaming, experience level, or age, Winter War has an event to suit your tastes. From role playing to World War II combat simulations to collectible card games, we have it all. Winter War is even home to one of the area's premier Advanced Squad Leader tournaments.
